Here is the link to our segment this morning :
We are waiting on the cold weather to come in and sweep us off our feet but a girl must be prepared and proactive when dealing with the important things in life like…..
What kind of coat do I need to buy this season???? Well, here are the important trends to consider when pondering this major fashion dilemma this season.

da da dummmmmmm

First important trend is SUPER HERO! She wears a cape and can leap tall buildings in a single bound. Capes, military inspired looks are super HOT for coats. Here is our take on it with gorgeous Jennifer and she is wearing this amazing cape from GREGORY’S at Northpark.

Our second trend is FUR ACCENTS! Fur on collars, sleeves, vests, trim, etc. I mean let’s get real, fur is ALWAYS on top of my list each winter. I love it and I am sorry to anyone who takes offense to it. not really… but I digress… Here is our take on it with gorgeous Kayla modeling this ETRO beaded evening coat dress from Clothes Circuit. We finish off her look with a pony ankle Manolo Blahnik bootie from Clothes Circuit.

Our third important trend is SPORTY meets style look. You will have to wear more than yoga pants and a tee shirt this fall and why not pair it with a puffer jacket which is ALL the rage this fall/winter! Here is our take on it with Ashli rocking this amazing lipstick printed ESCADA puffer with the fur trim (two trends in one) back with her winter whites and cool boots.

Last but def not least is our last coat trend which is OVERSIZED. This is HUGE and I mean huge as in sizes of coats walking down the runway. Long sleeves, long opera coats, dusters and huge oversized shapes as well. Here is beautiful Vanna rocking this trend in all grey jeans and turtleneck from GREGORY’S at Northpark, grey shrug for layering from PLANET BLUE, amazing robe coat from ESCADA and adorable grey booties from

Polish Dallas : the fashion show that prays together, stays together

I am so honored to be a part of this show and we had such a wonderful time and so many people who volunteered their time to make it such a success! There was standing room only and nearly all 400 seats were full! God is GREAT! I could write all about it, but it is so much more powerful to show through the lens of Randy Anderson. So here it is…

Kat Armstrong, the director of POLISH dallas leading everyone in prayer before the fashion show. She asked us to “leave our mean girl at the door” because this show was to empower, encourage, inspire and bring women together! As I looked out into the crowd I thought to myself ” I wish the fashion world was more like this, women building each other up instead of tearing each other down some time.” Kat is such an incredible leader and created such a powerful positive spirit for the night.

The models for this show were all bloggers and they were so sweet and fun to work with. We were over organized so we had some time backstage to hang out, take selfies, eat sandwiches and more. The style team were ROCKSTARS as they helped get everyone in wardrobe and ready to walk the catwalk!4-16-15 Polish Fash Show0140

Kat and Catherine co-hosted the show so beautifully, they introduced each designer with grace and enthusiasm. As you can see I was backstage, giving the models the green light to make their debut! Kayla who is a professional ballerina opened the show with the most amazing dance, we didn’t announce it so it really surprised and captivated the audience right off the bat!4-16-15 Polish Fash Show0167

A personal reflection on how Autism affected my life – A WALK IN PARIS -part 1

I adopted my son in 2009 and he was four years old. He came from a neglected background and had been given up by his mother on his birthday. Isaiah had to endure probably more heartache before the age of 4 than I probably will my entire life. I was a new mom and overwhelmed like most new moms, but I noticed Isaiah saw the world and experienced it in a ‘different’ manner. He got overwhelmed in large groups, he would constantly touch others to communicate, he hated when people touched him, flashing lights and loud noises set him off spiraling into a different dimension. I didn’t know what was wrong but I knew he needed help after getting kicked out of PRE-K at my church because he “Might” hurt some other kids. I was at a loss and didn’t know how to help him. Until I talked to my best friend from college one day and she said maybe I should get him tested. So I did and it turned out he was on the “Spectrum” for “sensory integration disorder.” It all seemed greek to me until I started to meet with therapists and getting a plan together to get him some early childhood intervention. Cut to present day, he is mainstreamed at his elementary school and doing really well. I am so thankful for all the resouces that helped me and there was an entire team to help me, help Isaiah. I tell you all this story because I am personally affected by this and believe in therapy and understanding of Austism. That is the main reason I am doing this charity fashion show for The Center of Autism in Dallas.
Here is a brief history on the center and what all they do, it really is so amazing!

Here are just a couple of pictures to show you some of the cool programs they do at the center:

We got together yesterday to do our fitting for the show. We started at 8 am at Anderson Studios in Dallas.

The show is “A walk in Paris” and it is theatrical in nature not just your normal runway show. It takes us back to time and place where ladies were really all “put together” and the dresses and gowns were just out of this world fabulous.

I am so honored to collaborate on this show with my friends and amazing designers AND on makeup and hair.
