A couple of weeks ago, I got the opportunity to sit down with one of Dallas’ newest designer darlings, Lucy Dang. She has won more awards in fashion than any dallas designer I know. Her tenacity and drive paired with her creative vision makes this Texas girl a success already!

She graduated from North Texas majoring in Fashion Design. Soon, she packed up and moved to New York city. She worked with all kinds of major design houses learning how to navigate this tricky and competitive business. She decided to start her own design house but knew Dallas was the place to make this happen. She moved back to Texas and jumped in feet first creating her brand and entering design contests. She kept winning and gaining lots of press and clients. Her latest win has landed her a lucrative deal with BELK’S designing a more affordable line “Lady by Lucy Dang” that will be rolled out to all their stores in the near future! However, she also has her contemporary boutique line where she is selling in higher end boutiques and department stores. She just recently showed this line in Chicago as seen in the picture below.

Lucy is surrounded by a very talented team of asst. designers, managers and stylists. Her and the team are the gutsiest girly girls I have ever met in fashion. They arent afraid to take risks that are calculated and strategic. I love talking to designers who arent only creatively talented, but also has such great business savvy. She is one of those designers and it shows.

Her Spring 14 line is going to be our show closer for www.iamtrendnext.com show on November 23rd. The line is created with clean lines with a very modern feminine influence. Her fabrications are luxurious and dreamy! It is so wearable, yet so chic! Come meet her and see her amazing line on November 23 rd at www.iamtrendnext.com.

Blessed!
Jeanette
